Breed: Standard Poodle
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 14 months old
Comments: Cosette has lived with AD for over 6 1/2 years now and it hasn't slowed her
down. Since her diagnosis, she has gone on to compete in Obedience and Agility and has won numerous titles in UKC and AKC events. She also makes regular Therapy Dog visits to local nursing homes. But most importantly she is the light of our lives and our constant companion.
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: Almost 16 years old
Comments: Mindy will be 16 years old in March... up until her Addison's diagnosis, she's had the health of a 2-year-old. She's a joy... loves people; especially little kids. She'll go for a walk regardless of the weather and a ride in the car is even a bigger bonus... even if it's to go to the vet! She was diagnosed with Addison's about two weeks ago and yesterday (1/29/00) had her first injection of DOCP.
Breed: St. Bernard x Collie x Shepherd
Sex: Male
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 7 years, 11 months
Comments: The people who owned Buck were going to take him to the pound when he reached a
year old as he had grown so big and he also loved to dig their flower garden up. We agreed to adopt him and have never regretted it. He's a big, lovable goof who loves to eat and go for walks in the woods. He howls at trains passing through and makes funny "aroooo" sounds to get attention and make us laugh. His birthday is March 10/92. We love him!
Breed: Rough Collie
Sex: Male
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 5 years, 3 months old
Comments: Raleigh loves attention, but prefers praise and admiration to hugs and kisses. He likes walks most anywhere, in the woods or on a city sidewalk,
especially if he meets someone who wants to meet him! And he LOVES treats. He's one of the sweetest and most easy going dogs I have ever known, which makes him an absolute pleasure for me (and for the vets) to have around. Raleigh is doing extremely well since his diagnosis and start of treatment two years ago. He lives with two other dogs, a rough collie and a border collie mix, as well as two cats.
Breed: Shetland Sheepdog
Sex: Male
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 4 years old
Comments: Smokey and his best pal, Shakespeare, a Bassset Hound, came into our lives
at the same time as puppies, "Smokes" was 6 months and "Shakes" was 6 weeks. Shakes and Smokes have very different personalities but get along great with each other and are a constant source of entertainment. Smokes likes to practice his herding skills on Shakes by chasing him around the house and
dragging him oustside by the ears when it's pee time.
